Financial Support

New Hampshire offers various financial supports, including scholarships, state programs, loan repayment programs, and employers offer to cover the costs to help individuals pursue careers in health care or upskill what they’re already doing. These resources are designed to ease the financial burden of education and training, making it more accessible for aspiring health care professionals to enter the field and make a difference in their communities.

American Student Dental Association

The American Dental Education Association, in partnership with sponsors like Crest Oral-B, Haleon, MouthWatch, and Sigma Phi Alpha, offers a range of scholarships for dental and dental hygiene students. Awards support those pursuing academic careers, demonstrating excellence in preventive dentistry, or showing leadership and innovation in oral health. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,500 and are available to both predoctoral and allied dental students advancing their education.

Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established to assist students pursuing Associate or Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing who clearly demonstrate intent to positively impact healthcare outcomes for the communities they will serve.

Centene Scholars

“New England College (NEC) announced that it will receive a combined $550,000 grant from NH Healthy Families ($50,000) and Centene Foundation ($500,000), the philanthropic arm of Centene Corporation. This grant will fund a scholarship endowment for the College’s new cooperative Bachelor of Arts in Community Mental Health, a degree program that trains professionals to meet the growing mental health crisis throughout New Hampshire and New England. Recipients of the scholarship will be known as Centene Scholars.

Center for Life Management Foundation

The Center for Life Management Foundation offers scholarships for graduating high school seniors or those who completed their GED, for CLM clients enrolled in the Supportive Employment Program, for CLM Staff, and for CLM Staff Dependents.

Community College System of NH

Eligible first responders can take a course at any of New Hampshire’s community colleges, including courses offered by CCSNH online. The program covers tuition and required fees for one course per semester, subject to eligibility and available funding. Participating employees will be certified as eligible by their employers and will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the course (completing the course with a grade of C or better).

Concord Hospital Trust

Applicants must be a resident within Concord Hospital Health System’s service area for a period of at least one year as of the application deadline; have graduated from a high school within the health system’s service area or expect to within the current year; or be employed by Concord Hospital health system. Students are also eligible if they have passed the General Education Development (GED)/HiSet test;

DMC Charitable Foundation Community Scholarship Program

Each year, the DMC Charitable Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who intend to major in medicine or any health-related field at a post-secondary institution.

Elliot Hospital Nursing Expansion Grant (Granite State PARTNERS Program)

Elliot Health System is proud to have received a Federal Grant from the Department of Labor to support this project in collaboration with multiple state and community partners. Collectively, their goal is to create opportunities for individuals to either join or advance their career in the nursing workforce.

FedPoint Nursing Scholarship

FedPoint’s primary goal in offering these scholarships is to help strengthen the nursing workforce to better meet the current and future demand for care in the United States. FedPoint awards four $5,000 scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors who will be enrolling in an accredited nursing program.

Granite Edvance Scholarship

A total of $750,000 in scholarships will be awarded to new and returning NH undergraduate students. Scholarships will be awarded in four categories in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. Students may apply in multiple categories but may only win one scholarship.

Great Brook Academy

Great Brook Academy awards scholarships to students enrolled in a Public Safety Certificate or Community CPR Program who have submitted a complete, on-time application, reside in a high-need area of the state, and can demonstrate financial need.

Lamprey Health Care

Lamprey Health Care’s strategic plan includes commitments to workforce development, building partnerships, and a focus on quality of care. The Lamprey Health Care 1-Year Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Program embraces these goals in its mission to build confident and competent Nurse Practitioners and prepare them to practice in a patient-centered primary care medical home.

Leadership Development Program of New England

The Leadership Development Program of New England is for emerging and current leaders from the addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery profession in New England as well as behavioral health, criminal justice, and other healthcare professionals.

Mary C. Manning Scholarship

Named in memory of Mary C. Manning, past Vice-President and Director of Breathe NH, then called the New Hampshire Tuberculosis Association. For 42 years, from 1923 until her death in 1965, Mary C. Manning gave her time, talent, and financial support to benefit lung health in New Hampshire. The scholarship was established to continue her legacy and to support future public health students in furthering their academic interests. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually.

Michael J. Latta EMS Scholarship Fund

The mission of the Foundation is to support Emergency Medical Services by finding intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated individuals who have the energy and enthusiasm for their work as well as a drive for continuing their education. To enable that, the memorial foundation grants scholarships each year to individuals emulating Michael J. Latta’s character traits of work ethic, dedication, energy, and enthusiasm, who wish to attend school to become Paramedics.
